Kamala Industries manufactures a specialised range of adhesive powders, additive powders and industrial glues, designed for Corrugated Box Plants, Kraft Paper Mills, Plywood Units, Paper Product Manufacturers and Water–Based Paint & Distemper Units. All VIKRAM series products are formulated to enhance bonding strength, surface finish, machine runnability, drying behaviour and final product performance.
Following sections provide industry-wise product descriptions, advantages and indicative methods of use. Exact dosages and mixing ratios should be optimised on the basis of GSM, BF, climate, raw material quality and plant conditions.
Corrugated Box Industry
Corrugation and pasting products are designed for single facer, double–backer and flap/side jointing operations. They support better board compression, pin adhesion, warp control, faster drying and clean pasting.
KOREX™ – Corrugation Adhesive
Type: Gum adhesive for corrugation (single facer & double–backer).
Applications
- Used in corrugated board production on single facer and double–backer sections.
- Suitable for a wide range of kraft paper grades and machine speeds.
Key Advantages
- Provides stable viscosity and consistent tack over long runs.
- Reduces open flute, weak bond and delamination issues.
- Supports faster drying and better stack handling.
- Compatible with VIKRAM 500 / VIKRAM 777 for further strength improvement.
General Method of Use (Indicative)
- Prepare base corrugation gum using starch, alkali and water as per plant practice.
- Maintain required viscosity and temperature for the machine speed.
- Where higher performance is needed, dose recommended quantity of VIKRAM additives into the gum solution under stirring.
PASTO® – Pasting Adhesive
Type: Pasting adhesive for liner–to–liner, liner–to–board and joint pasting.
Applications
- Used in inner and outer pasting operations for corrugated boxes.
- Suitable for manual, semi–automatic and certain automatic flap/side pasting systems.
Key Advantages
- Provides clean, uniform pasting bead with strong bond.
- Helps reduce joint opening and improves box compression performance.
- Balanced open time and setting time for practical shop floor handling.
General Method of Use
- Slowly add Pasto® powder into clean water with continuous stirring to form a smooth paste.
- Adjust solids and viscosity according to required application thickness and speed.
- Avoid over–application to minimise squeeze–out and maintain neat finishing.
VIKRAM – 500 Additive Paste
Type: Additive paste for corrugation gum and pasting gum.
Product Description
- Specially developed additive for corrugated boxes and boards.
- Improves the performance of corrugation and pasting gum systems in terms of strength, printability and durability.
- Designed by technocrats to address the intricacies of corrugation applications.
Major Advantages
- Improves compression strength and bursting strength of the board.
- Improves performance of printed matter on corrugated sheets.
- Helps achieve better bond consistency and reduces failures during transport or handling.
Method of Use (From Factory Practice)
- Recommended for both corrugation gum solution and pasting gum solution.
- Take VIKRAM – 500 additive paste in the range of approx. 2% ± 1% by weight of total gum solution (corrugation gum / pasting gum). Exact percentage depends on climate, paper GSM, BF and gum quality.
- Add VIKRAM – 500 into the respective gum preparation tank under constant stirring.
- Continue stirring for about 10–15 minutes after entire additive has been added, ensuring full dispersion.
- Corrugation gum / pasting gum is then ready for normal use in glue kitchen.
VIKRAM – 777 Additive Powder
Type: Specialty starch–based additive powder for corrugated box gums.
Product Description
- Unique product based on specialty starches and chemical blends designed specifically for corrugation and pasting.
- Optimises glue quality for box manufacturing and enhances bonding characteristics.
Key Advantages
- Provides excellent bonding between liners and flute medium.
- Improves board compression strength and fibre bonding.
- Helps in achieving warp control and more uniform boards.

Typical Dosage & Use (As per Guidelines)
- Calculate total gum solution (gum powder + water).
- Add VIKRAM – 777 at around 2% ± 1% on gum solution weight.
- The exact percentage depends on box quality, GSM & BF of paper and desired performance.
- Mix under proper agitation to allow full hydration and viscosity development before feeding to the machine.
VIKRAM – 509 Anti–Cracking Additive
Type: Anti–cracking additive paste for corrugated box manufacturing.
Product Introduction
- Specifically developed to solve problems such as cracking, joint failure, low compression and poor bursting strength.
- Improves fibre bonding and overall board integrity.
Key Advantages in Corrugated Box
- Reduces surface cracking and brittleness of the board.
- Improves compression as well as bursting strength.
- Enhances sheet appearance and handling performance.
Method of Use (Corrugated Box)
- Dosage range typically 2%–3% ± 1% on total weight of corrugation gum + pasting gum + water.
- Example: if gum powder weight is 200 kg and total gum solution (with water) is 1200 kg, then 2% of 1200 kg = 24 kg of VIKRAM – 509.
- Add VIKRAM – 509 paste into gum solution under stirring until uniformly dispersed.
VIKRAM – 040 Flap Pasting Joint Glue
Type: Glue for flap and side jointing of corrugated boxes. It is also used in wallpaper pasting applications.
Applications & Advantages
- Used in flap pasting, side jointing and final box closing operations.
- Suitable for certain wallpaper pasting requirements where strong but neat adhesion is needed.
- Provides strong, clean joints with minimal glue squeeze–out.
- Fast setting for quicker bundling and despatch.
Kraft Paper Industry
VIKRAM kraft additives are dosed near the wet–end / head box region to improve fibre bonding, ring–crush strength, bursting strength, stiffness and surface quality of kraft paper.
VIKRAM – 999 & VIKRAM – 900 (Combined Method)
Type: Strength and surface improver additive system for kraft paper.
Typical Method for 1000 kg Kraft Paper (Version 1)
- Take 5 kg of VIKRAM – 999 and mix thoroughly in about 50 kg water to make a smooth paste.
- Into this paste, add 2 kg of VIKRAM – 900 and mix well.
- After both are fully dispersed, the combined additive mixture is ready.
- Dose this mixture near the finished process / head box area for best effect.
Typical Method for 1000 kg Kraft Paper (Version 2 – Higher Strength)
- Take 10 kg of VIKRAM – 999 and mix in about 50 kg of water to obtain a paste.
- Add 5 kg of VIKRAM – 900 into this paste.
- Mix thoroughly; then dose as required in the system.
- Suitable where higher strength grade kraft is required.
Advantages of VIKRAM – 999 / 900 Combination
- Improves ring–crush and bursting strength of kraft paper.
- Enhances fibre bonding, stiffness and heavy–duty performance.
- Improves surface finish and sheet uniformity.
VIKRAM – 909 Premium Kraft Additive
Type: Additive paste for fibre strength, surface glaze and anti–cracking.
Applications & Benefits
- Used where kraft shows surface cracking, low compression or poor glaze.
- Improves fibre strength, compression and bursting strength.
- Helps achieve a more uniform, glazed surface suitable for printing and high–grade packaging.
General Use
- Prepared as a paste with water and dosed at suitable point in the machine system.
- Exact quantity decided after trial as per quality requirement.
Plywood Industry
VIKRAM plywood additives are used inside resin formulations to improve bonding, film strength, moisture resistance and service life for BWP & MR grade plywood and blockboards.
VIKRAM – 124 Additive Powder for Plywood Resins
Type: Additive powder for plywood resin systems.
Product Highlights
- Manufactured to provide a quality booster for plywood resin bonding.

General Method of Use
- Added into urea–formaldehyde or phenolic resin mixes in recommended proportion.

VIKRAM – 409 Tensile & Coating Improver
Type: Additive for improving tensile strength and coating film behaviour in plywood and laminates.

VIKRAM – 4000 Premium Plywood Additive

Paper Product Industry (Cones, Tubes, Core Pipes & Fibre Drums)

VIKRAM – 900 Series for Paper Products

Water–Based Emulsion Paints & Pouch Distemper
VIKRAM – 404 (CMS–Based Additive)
Type: Sodium Carboxy Methyl Starch Ether eco–friendly additive for emulsion paints & pouch distempers.
Technical Highlights
- Nature: Anionic, water–soluble CMS starch ether.
- Solubility: Soluble in cold as well as hot water.
- pH (2% solution): Approx. 12 ± 1.
- Moisture: Around 9% ± 2%.
- Particle Size: Passes 40 mesh BSS screen.
- Solution stable to dilute acids and alkalies under normal conditions.
Key Properties & Advantages
- Strong thickening action with rapid viscosity development.
- Improves water–resistance ability, dispersion, adhesion and film formation.
- Provides good binding action and anionic colloidal nature favourable for many formulations.
- Gives good print paste stability and high colour yield.
- Helps improve brushing, coverage and final finish quality on walls.
Indicative Method (Example for 200 kg Emulsion Batch)
- Take about 20 kg of water in a suitable mixing vessel.
- Start high–speed stirring and add approx. 2 kg of VIKRAM – 404 gradually.
- Add required brightener and continue stirring for about 20–30 minutes for full hydration.
- Then add remaining emulsion ingredients as per your paint formulation under continuous stirring.
- Top up remaining water and mix for another 15–20 minutes till a uniform, stable paint mass is obtained.
Note: All dosages, mixing times and sequences given above are indicative based on typical industrial usage. Final settings should be established through plant trials considering local raw materials, plant conditions and target specifications.
